Once your student feels comfortable with all the notes in the previous lessons, they can attempt to learn the basic chords in this lesson. Many students struggle to play chords so this lesson will help you ease the student into playing a few notes at once. The included lesson instructions will guide you through the best method to teach the simple chords and how the student should practice.
After your student can play the simple songs in BBL-05, they can continue to learn the notes on the fourth string. The exercises use notes across all four strings to help the student retain the information in earlier lessons.
After your student has memorized all the notes on the first three strings and completed lessons BBL-02, BBL-03 & BBL-04, they can learn the songs in this lesson. The songs are extremely simple and allow the student to use the notes across all three strings in a musical way (instead of exercises). This lesson will help them learn to strum different patterns and rhythms using the chords they already know. The included lesson instructions will help you explain the most effective way to strum the chords and will give you a few methods to use to help the student learn to play in-time.
Beginners often struggle when first learning open chords. How you handle this important stage will determine the student's future motivation. This lesson covers the most basic open chords including chord diagrams and photos. The included lesson instructions will guide you through the lesson to ensure the student uses correct technique when playing the chords.
Once your student feels comfortable using the techniques explained in BAS-02 & BAS-03, they can use these simple nursery rhymes to apply them. The nursery rhymes are the same as the ones used in BAS-01 so if you have given that lesson to your student, they will find this lesson a breeze. Students really enjoy being able to apply the techniques in a musical way so be sure to give this lesson to them as soon as possible after they have learned the techniques.
